At Beyond Showroom, we often hear the same question after a ceramic coating application: “Does this mean I never have to wash my car again?”

We wish that were the case! While a ceramic coating is a “super-shield,” it isn’t a suit of armor. If you take a coated car through a generic “brush” car wash, you are essentially sandpapering your investment.

The Two-Bucket Method: Your Paint’s Best Friend To keep that surface tension high and the gloss deep, you need to ditch the automated car wash. We recommend the two-bucket method:

  1. Bucket A: pH-neutral soap suds.
  2. Bucket B: Clean rinse water.

By rinsing your mitt in Bucket B before grabbing more soap, you ensure that the dirt you just pulled off the car isn’t being rubbed back into the finish.

Avoid the “Water Spot” Trap Because ceramic coatings are hydrophobic, water beads up tightly. If those beads dry in the hot sun, they can leave mineral deposits (water spots). Always dry your vehicle in the shade using a high-quality microfiber drying towel or, better yet, a dedicated car blower to avoid touching the paint altogether.

Professional Decontamination Every 6 to 12 months, bring your vehicle back to us for a “decon wash.” We use specialized chemicals to remove embedded iron particles and industrial fallout that standard soap can’t touch, “recharging” your coating’s performance.
